The Central City Chorus has openings in all sections for strong singers and enthusiastic performers. The Chorus enjoys lively rehearsals on Thursday evenings from September through May, and our concerts are held on Saturday evenings and occasional Sunday afternoons. In recent years the Chorus has performed Bach's Magnificat, the Brahms German Requiem, Mozart's C Minor Mass, and Mendelssohn's Elijah with orchestra, as well as numerous a cappella works spanning five centuries of music. The forty-member chorus is led by Phillip Cheah, with assistant conductor Brian Hamer.
Our next new member auditions will be held on Thursday August 26 and Thursday September 2, 2010, from 6:30 p.m. or by arrangement. Auditions are held at our rehearsal space at the Church of St. John the Baptist Parish Hall, basement. Enter through the gate on West 30th Street, just west of 7th Avenue.
